What if I want to run my solar pool pump at night?

Since the variable‐speed motor operates in direct proportion to the amount of sunlight landing on the roof mounted solar panels, the motor will be affected by:

  • Clouds passing overhead ~ will make the motor will run slower
  • Cloudy or rainy weather ~ the motor will run slower or stop completely
  • Night time ~ the motor will stop completely

However, when we install your Solar Pool Pump, we can provide you with two solutions to those "no sunlight situations":

  • Auxiliary Pump ~ this is an option if your standard pool pump is left in place
  • Inverter and Battery Pack ~ can be used to power you through the low light/no light times

To find out which solution will work best for you and your home, contact one of our Solar Technicians for a site visit.
